CONDITIONS

Exhibits must be in place by 9.30am on Friday 27th October, 2017, at which time judging will commence.  All exhibits must have been made by the exhibitor. Exhibitors are to provide their own transport bags (Glad Oven Bags for clear vision). To facilitate handling, please place exhibits on a firm flat base or plate. No Packet cakes allowed except in Class 19. Exhibits can be collected on Saturday 28th October between 6.00 & 7.00pm.

RECIPES

CHOCOLATE CAKE

Ingredients:
180gm Margarine.
1½ cups Caster Sugar.
2 Eggs.
2 cups S.R. Flour.
¼ cup Cocoa.
½ to ¾ cup Milk.
1 teaspoon Vanilla essence 

Method:

Grease a 8” square cake tin, line base with baking paper. Beat margarine, gradually add sugar, and beat till fluffy. Add eggs one at a time, add vanilla. Add flour and cocoa sifted together, alternately with milk. Bake in a moderate oven for approximately 50 minutes, or until cooked.

CUPCAKES

Ingredients:
120gm Butter or margarine
¾ cup Caster sugar
2 Eggs
1¾ cups SR flour
1 tablespoon Custard powder
¾ cup Milk
1 teaspoon Vanilla essence

Method: Preheat oven to 180°C/160°C fan-forced. Line muffin tray with paper cases. Combine butter, vanilla, sugar, eggs, sifted flour and custard powder and milk in a small bowl. Beat with electric mixer on low speed until ingredients are just combined. Increase speed to medium, beat about 3 minutes or until mixture is smooth and changed to a paler colour. Divide mixture among cases, bake about 20 minutes. Turn cakes onto wire racks to cool.

 CONDITIONS

All mounted photos & entry forms are to be delivered to Campbell Becks Smart Shop, 38 Austral Terrace or the CRC, Albion St, Katanning, by 5pm on Friday 20th October 2017. No late entries will be accepted. All photos must have been taken by the exhibitor. Entries must not have been exhibited at the Katanning Show in previous years. Prints to be size 10cm x 15cm (postcard), colour or black & white. All prints are to be mounted on black card with approx. 2cm border & securely fixed to mount with double-sided tape. Please have Velcro dots on the back of the mounted photo to help with the hanging of photos. All entries must have entrants name, phone number, age & class on the back top left-hand corner. Exhibits can be collected on Saturday 28th October between 6.00 & 7.00pm, uncollected photos may be collected from the CRC from 2nd November.  Maximum of TWO entries per entrant per class.

Floral saucer: Fill a saucer with clean wet sand to form a slight dome on top.  Press the short stalks of flower heads and leaves into the sand in a design of your own choice.
